What Are The Classifications Of Injection Mold

Injection Mold

Single parting surface injection mold

When the mold is opened, the movable mold and the fixed mold are separated to take out the plastic parts. This is called a single parting surface mould, also called a double-plate mold.

It is the simplest and most basic form of injection mould. It can be designed as a single-cavity injection mould or a multi-cavity injection mould according to needs. It is the most widely used injection mould.

Double parting surface injection mold

Double parting surface injection moulds have two parting surfaces. Compared with single parting surface injection molds, double parting surface injection moulds add a partially movable middle plate (also called a movable gate plate) to the fixed mould part.

It is equipped with gates, runners and other parts and components required for the fixed mould), so it is also called a three-plate (moving plate, middle plate, fixed plate) injection mould;

It is often used in single-cavity or multi-cavity injection molds with point gate feeding. When opening the mould, the intermediate plate is separated from the fixed template at a certain distance on the guide pillar of the fixed mould so that it can be taken out between the two templates.

Gating system concrete. Double parting surface injection molds have complex structures, high manufacturing costs, and difficult parts processing. They are generally not used for the molding of large or extra-large plastic products.

Injection mold with side parting and core pulling mechanism

When the plastic part has side holes or undercuts, a laterally movable core or slider must be used for molding. After injection molding, the movable mould first moves downward for a certain distance, and then the inclined section of the bent pin fixed on the fixed platen forces the slider to move outward. At the same time, the push rod of the demoulding mechanism pushes the pusher plate to make the plastic part self-shaped. Take off the core.

Injection molds with movable molded parts

Due to some special structures of plastic parts, the injection mould is required to be equipped with movable molding parts, such as movable punches, movable concave moulds, movable inserts, movable thread cores or rings, etc., which can be combined with the plastic parts during demoulding. Move out of the mould together and then separate from the plastic part.

Automatic thread removal injection mold

For plastic parts with threads, when automatic demoulding is required, a rotatable threaded core or ring can be installed on the mould, and the mould opening action or the rotating mechanism of the injection molding machine can be used, or a special transmission device can be set up to drive the threads The core or threaded ring rotates to release the plastic part.

No runner injection mold

The runnerless injection mould refers to the method of adiabatic heating of the runner to keep the plastic between the nozzle and the cavity of the injection molding machine in a molten state, so that there is no condensation in the gating system when the mould is opened and the plastic part is taken out. The former is called an insulated runner injection mould, and the latter is called a hot runner injection mould.

Right angle injection mold

Right-angle injection molds are only suitable for angle-type injection molding machines. What is completely different from other injection moulds is that the feeding direction of this type of mould is perpendicular to the opening and closing direction of the mould during molding.

Its main flow channel is located on both sides of the movable and fixed mould parting surfaces, and its cross-sectional area is usually constant. This is different from the molds used in other injection molding machines.

The end of the main flow channel, in order to prevent the injection molding machine from For wear and deformation of the nozzle and the inlet end of the main flow channel, replaceable flow channel inserts can be installed.

Injection mould with demoulding mechanism on fixed mold

In most injection moulds, the demoulding device is installed on the side of the movable mould, which facilitates the work of the ejection device in the mould opening and closing system of the injection molding machine.

In actual production, due to the shape restrictions of some plastic parts, it is better to leave the plastic parts on the fixed mould side for molding. In order to make the plastic parts come out of the mould, a demoulding device must be installed on the fixed mould side. mechanism.
