With the needs of society, the requirements of moulds are getting higher and higher. In order to achieve high-speed processing of mould cavities and related parts, their relative machine tools must have three major characteristics. In this way, the mould can be matched well and used more reasonably.
1. Because the mould is developing in the direction of large-scale, moulds of several tons to tens of tons are very common, so the worktable of the machine tool is required to withstand a large weight, which requires that the equipment must have the characteristics of large load-bearing and high rigidity, and must also have enough The large table size and working stroke are compatible with it. In addition, the strength and hardness of the mould material are very high, and the small diameter end mill with a large elongation is often used to process the mould cavity, so the chattering process is prone to occur. In order to ensure the machining accuracy and surface quality of the parts, the high-speed machine tool of the mould manufacturing must have high dynamic and static stiffness to improve the positioning accuracy, tracking accuracy and anti-vibration ability of the machine tool.
2. High-speed and high-power high-speed machining is the development direction. High-speed milling has shown great advantages in mould processing. In order to adapt to the processing of the mould cavity surface, the radius of the tool should be smaller than the cavity surface small circumferential radius, so as to avoid interference between the tool and the workpiece during the processing. Due to the small tool diameter, the spindle speed is required to be very high. The spindle speed of foreign high-speed processing machine tools has reached 40,000~100,000 r/min, and the rapid feed rate can reach 30,000~60,000 min. The rough and fine machining of the cavity and other parts of the mould parts are often completed in one clamping of the workpiece, so the power of the spindle is large. The power of the spindle of the medium-sized mould milling machine and the machining center is often 10-40kw, and some are even higher.
3. The multi-axis linkage and good deep hole cavity comprehensive cutting ability. The mould cavity is mostly composed of complex space six curved surfaces and grooves, and many moulds have deep hole cavity. In order to achieve high-precision, high-speed and high-stability machining of 3D curved surfaces, the machine tool needs multi-axis linkage and has good comprehensive cutting ability of deep holes. A five-axis machining center can be used. In addition to the linear motion of three coordinates, there are also two rotary coordinate feed motions. The milling head or worktable can be continuously rotated and fed by multi-axis linkage, so it is suitable for processing mould parts with complex cavity surfaces.
