Maintenance points for the electrical system, hydraulic system, clamping part and injection part of the injection molding machine

Injection molding machine production is generally 24 hours a day. For machines that are in working condition for a long time, we must do a good job of maintenance and try to find and solve problems before the machine fails. Otherwise, once the machine fails, it must be stopped and repaired, affecting production.

Therefore, it is particularly important to do a good job of maintenance of the injection molding machine. To do a good job of maintenance of the injection molding machine, the maintenance content must be classified according to the frequency of possible failures:

the content with the highest frequency is included in the daily maintenance, the content with a slightly lower frequency is included in the weekly maintenance, and so on, and then the work content of the monthly maintenance and annual maintenance is classified.

After the maintenance content is determined, it is best to assign a dedicated person to ensure that the determined maintenance work is carried out effectively according to the planned arrangement.

Necessary records must be made every time maintenance work is completed so that there will be a basis for the evaluation of the machine in future work.

Electrical system maintenance

  • When checking the high-voltage components in the machine, the main power should not be turned on unless necessary.
  • When replacing the mold, do not allow cooling water to flow into the electric control box.
  • Check whether the temperature in the electric control box is too high, which will affect the normal operation and service life of the electronic board.
  • When replacing the relay, use the specified voltage relay.

Maintenance of hydraulic system The hydraulic oil temperature of the injection molding machine should be kept between 30-55 degrees Celsius. If the oil temperature exceeds 60 degrees Celsius

The following problems will occur:

  • The hydraulic oil deteriorates due to oxidation.
  • The viscosity of the hydraulic oil decreases, causing damage to the oil pump, oil leakage, pressure drop and reduced efficiency of the whole machine.
  • Accelerate the aging of the oil seal.
  • Prevent cooling water from leaking into the system oil tank. Pay special attention to check whether there is water leakage inside the oil cooler. Clean the inside of the cooler once every 6 months or so.
  • The hydraulic oil of the injection molding machine must be replaced every 3000-4000 hours of operation. When replacing the oil, do not mix the new and old oils. At the same time, unscrew the filter in the oil tank for cleaning.
  • If the directional valve fails due to the valve core being blocked by foreign objects, the valve core should be removed and cleaned with diesel or kerosene (or immersed in clean hydraulic oil for cleaning), and then the foreign objects should be removed with compressed air.

Maintenance of clamping part

  • The hinge of the clamping part has a long service life, but each moving part should be properly lubricated, otherwise the hinge will wear and reduce its service life.
  • Keep the four tie rods clean.
  • Keep the sliding feet and rails of the moving template clean and lubricated.
  • Avoid using molds that are close to or exceed the working pressure.
  • When adjusting the mold, do not use a very fast clamping speed.
  • Control the clamping action stroke position at the most appropriate position to reduce the impact on the machine during clamping.

Maintenance of the injection molding part

  • Keep the guide rod of the injection molding platform lubricated and clean.
  • Keep the surface of the injection molding platform clean and dry.
  • When using the return material, a hopper magnetic frame must be added to the hopper to prevent metal fragments from entering the melt cylinder.
  • Restart production after the barrel temperature reaches the set temperature for about 3 minutes (to ensure that the raw materials in the barrel are completely softened) to prevent damage to the screw and transmission system.
  • When the barrel does not reach the preset temperature, the melt motor cannot be started, and the rewind (loosening) action cannot be used to avoid damage to the rotating system components.
  • Use the correct method of replacing plastic and cleaning the melt cylinder provided by the plastic supplier.
  • Periodically check the various parts of the injection molding platform, tighten the loose parts, and ensure that the two injection cylinders are installed in a balanced manner to avoid damage to the injection cylinder oil seal and oil leakage and damage to the cylinder, piston rod, etc.
  • When the temperature of the molten glue is normal but black spots or discoloration continue to appear on the molten glue, check whether the thrust ring and thrust ring of the injection screw are damaged.
